Finished carpentry has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My career in the construction and restoration field began immediately upon graduation from high school in 1997, and by 2003 I was working as a general contractor. A year later when my employer decided to retire, I thought to myself, “it’s now or never”, and C. Hertzig Contracting was born. I literally went door to door with a backpack full of flyers, and it wasn’t long before I got my business up and running.

Running a General Contracting business is not glamorous and is very hard work. It requires long days, extreme attention to detail, a significant amount of stress management, a lot of running around, and adapting when things don’t go as planned. But I don’t mind because I love working with people and helping them realize their dreams. It is an authentic part of who I am. While the process of completing a project comes with a plethora of challenges and stress, the look on a client’s face when their space is finished, along with the actualization of our collective vision, is very gratifying. But at the end of the day, my biggest why for doing what I do is my family. My wife Stacey and our daughters, Peyton and Kennedy, are the best things to come home to.
